THE SAPPHIRE COMPANY

The Sapphire Company is for students in Reception Year and Year 1, where training spans over a three-hour period. Students experience a 55-minute lesson in each genre of dance, drama and singing. The focus in each class is to further explore and master skills and learning outcomes, in a more intensified and ‘learner-involved’ environment. Students are encouraged to offer their ideas to become creative and imaginative in their approach; to enrich self-confidence when performing. Students are encouraged to stretch memory recall by learning scripted work, dance and syllabus vocabulary and song lyrics; to master pieces of work in their entirety. The Sapphire Company perform once a term to friends and family in all genres and are part of the London Performances opportunities, local competitions and community events. The company meet for 3 hours per week from 9am – 12pm. This company acts as a pre-requisite to the Emerald Company.

The Emerald Company

The Emerald Company is for students in Years 2 & 3, where training spans over a three-hour period. Students experience a 55-minute lesson in each genre of dance, drama and singing. At this level, students awareness and understanding of core skill sets within all genres is well underpinned and secure. The focus is therefore to broaden and expand students’ knowledge, by exploring new styles and concepts of musical theatre; stretching students to become more dynamic and versatile when performing. Teachers encourage self-discovery in performance, assisting in the direction of thought as students embrace heightened technique and performance skills. The company perform once a term to friends and family in all genres and are part of the London Performances opportunities, local competitions and community events. The company meet for 3 hours per week from 9am – 12pm. This company acts as a pre-requisite to the Amethyst Company.

The Amethyst Company

The Amethyst Company is for students in Years 4 & 5, where training spans over a three-hour period. Students experience a 55-minute lesson in each genre of dance, drama and singing. The knowledge of styles and concepts is soundly underpinned at this level, where students display an excellent understanding of performance. The learning is centred on more complex pieces of work, which are longer and cover an amalgamated and broader range of skill sets. Teachers encourage and challenge students to self-critique and reflect on their work; in a positive and encouraging manner. Students are taught how to devise their own pieces of work, applying key skills learnt and explored. A sense of style and ownership of performance is considered, to help facilitate a more refined and mature performer. The company perform once a term to friends and family in all genres and are part of the London Performances opportunities, local competitions and community events. The company meet for 3 hours per week from 9am – 12pm. This company acts as a pre-requisite to the Diamond Company.

The Diamond Company

The Diamond Company is for students in Years 6 - 8, where training spans over a three-hour period. Students experience a 55-minute lesson in each genre of dance, drama and singing. Work undertaken within this company runs at a quick pace where students learn and perfect group, duet and solo performance work in all types of musical theatre. At this level, students have a sound knowledge of where their passions lie and many are considering their options for studying at school. Learning therefore is focused on developing a true sense of maturity and depth of performance in all genres. The company perform once a term to friends and family in all genres and are part of the London Performances opportunities, local competitions and community events. The company meet for 3 hours per week from 9am – 12pm. This company acts as a pre-requisite to the Platinum Company.

The Platinum Company

The Platinum Company is for students in Years 9 & 10, where training spans over a three-hour period. Students experience a 55-minute lesson in each genre of dance, drama and singing. At this stage, students are most commonly preparing for auditions in full-time acting, dance and musical theatre schools. The repertoire of work is significantly increased in volume and complexity and self-critique is integral. External study of work is encouraged; to enrich learning outcomes, especially when audition work is required. The company perform once a term to friends and family in all genres and are part of the London Performances opportunities, local competitions and community events. The company meet for 3 hours per week from 9am – 12pm.

Satellites (from 2023)

The Satellites Company is our most advanced company. Entry is based on ability and is via observation or an audition process. Training spans over a three-hour period and students experience a 55-minute lesson in each genre of dance, drama and singing. Students are commonly preparing for auditions in full-time acting, dance and musical theatre schools. The repertoire of work is advanced and challenging and significantly increased in volume and complexity. Self-critique is integral and external study of work is encouraged; to enrich learning outcomes, especially when audition work is required. The company perform once a term to friends and family in all genres and are part of the London Performances opportunities, local competitions and community events.
